Monrovia entered their tilt with Temple City on Thursday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Rams. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 6-3 win on Monday.

Monrovia got a great performance from Alex Myers as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 6.1 innings pitched. Myers has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sully Zinn was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Monrovia's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Temple City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11-1 record this season.

Monrovia wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 8-7 victory against South Pasadena on the 14th. As for Temple City, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against La Salle on the 12th.
