Baseball Game Preview: Mason Comets vs. Princeton Vikings

Mason is 9-1 against Princeton since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Comets will head out to face off against the Vikings at 5:00 p.m. Mason's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Princeton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Mason took a loss when they played away from home last Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They put the hurt on Princeton with a sharp 8-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Comets in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won nine in a row.

Ben Hanley looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Grant O'Connor was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025. Liam Sander also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Mason's record now sits at 2-3. As for Princeton, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
