Baseball Recap: Queensbury Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Queensbury had won 12 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they bumped their record up to 18-1 to make it 13. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Schuylerville Horses a 1-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-3 on Wednesday.

Not much got past Davian Williams, who gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Schuylerville off the board. Williams has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Queensbury saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Mootz, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

As for Schuylerville, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-8-1. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.6 runs.

On Schuylerville's side, Jack Boden spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits.

Queensbury does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Schuylerville, they will challenge Stillwater at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
