Softball Recap: Olympic's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Olympic got themselves on the board against North Mason on Thursday, but North Mason never followed suit. They blew past the Bulldogs 14-0. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Brenda Morrison was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

In other batting news, Kennedy Haas was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Reagan Geier also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

The win was the fifth in a row for Olympic, bringing their record up to 11-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for North Mason, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3-1.

Coming up, Olympic is taking a road trip to face off against Spanaway Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Sentinels have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 21.44 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for North Mason, they will head out to square off against Ellensburg at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
