Basketball Recap: West Washington Takes a Loss

After flying high against Rock Creek Academy last Monday, West Washington came back down to earth. The West Washington Senators were outmatched by the Crawford County Wolfpack and fell 63-32. The Senators were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolfpack apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why West Washington lost on Thursday, don't look at Meredith Deaton. Despite the final result, she went 5 of 12 on her way to 16 points and seven steals. The match was Deaton's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Belle Farmer also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

West Washington has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season. As for Crawford County, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-8.

West Washington has already played their next contest, a 50-35 defeat against North Harrison on the 18th. As for Crawford County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-48 loss against Brownstown Central on the 18th.
