Baseball Recap: Westminster Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Westminster Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Decatur Heritage Christian Academy Eagles, falling 15-5. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 8-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2022.

Westminster Christian Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Shafer, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Wyatt Knecht also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Westminster Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Decatur Heritage Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.

Coincidentally, Westminster Christian Academy and Decatur Heritage Christian Academy will both be playing Winston County the next time they take the field. Westminster Christian Academy will head out to face Winston County at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Decatur Heritage Christian Academy will play them later in the day, at 4:00 p.m.
