Softball Game Preview: McBee Panthers vs. Lewisville Lions

McBee is 0-10 against Lewisville since March of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as McBee Panthers duke it out with Lewisville Lions at 6:00 p.m. McBee's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Lewisville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

McBee's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Great Falls as they made off with an 18-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Lewisville came tearing into Wednesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Silver Foxes by a score of 8-3.

Lewisville's win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for McBee, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

McBee couldn't quite finish off Lewisville in their previous meeting on Friday and fell 7-5. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
