Recap: Harvey Red Raiders vs. Geneva Eagles
If the Harvey Red Raiders were riding high off their 90-57 takedown of the Conneaut Spartans last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Harvey fell 57-48 to Geneva on Wednesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Harvey in their matchups with Geneva: they've now lost five in a row.
Harvey lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Braylon Johnson, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Armani Hall, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Harvey were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Harvey's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Geneva, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harvey is on the road again on Friday and play against Wickliffe at 6:45 p.m. on December 22nd. Wickliffe will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 781st, while Harvey is ranked 264th). As for Geneva, they will head out on the road to face off against Chardon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
