Basketball Recap: Frontenac Takes a Loss

Frontenac lost a heartbreaker to Galena when they met two weeks ago, and they left with a heavy heart again on Tuesday. The Frontenac Raiders were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 49-48 to the Galena Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 78th).

Frontenac's loss dropped their record down to 6-11-1. As for Galena, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.

Coming up, Frontenac will venture away from home to take on Baxter Springs on Friday. Frontenac is facing Baxter Springs at the right time seeing as Baxter Springs is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Galena, they will welcome St. Mary's-Colgan at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Galena is on a six-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), St. Mary's-Colgan a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
