Basketball Recap: Wes-Del Takes a Loss

Wes-Del lost against Madison-Grant back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wes-Del Warriors took a 63-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Madison-Grant Argylls. While the Warriors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Argylls 16-7 in the first quarter.

When it comes to explaining why Wes-Del lost, don't look at Julian Carpenter. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 27 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Carpenter a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Becerra, who posted eight points and five steals.

Wes-Del's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Madison-Grant, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wes-Del will face off against Blackford at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Madison-Grant, they will head out to face off against Shenandoah at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
