Baseball Game Preview: Mabel-Canton Cougars vs. Medford Tigers

The Mabel-Canton Cougars will challenge the Medford Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Medford took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Mabel-Canton, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Mabel-Canton needed a bit of extra time to put away Southland. They had just enough and edged out the Rebels 7-6. The Cougars' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Kale Eiken was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Eiken was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025.

In other batting news, Milton Hutchinson was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Isaac Underbakke, who went 1-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Medford lost 14-1 to Randolph on Thursday. The Tigers have struggled against the Rockets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Medford's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Mabel-Canton, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.
