Football Recap: John Carroll Comes Up Short

If John Carroll was feeling good fresh off their 27-0 takedown of St. Stephen's & St. Agnes last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Patriots took a 27-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Landon Bears on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 34-14 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Despite the loss, John Carroll still got an impressive performance from Carson Shoffner, who picked up 49 receiving yards and a pair of scores, and also rushed for 94 yards.

John Carroll's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Landon, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

John Carroll didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 23-0 win against Christ the King on the 12th. As for Landon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 13-6 victory against Flint Hill on the 13th.
