Softball Recap: Lord Botetourt Comes Up Short

Franklin County hit Lord Botetourt with a four-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cavaliers fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 9-8. The defeat continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost seven in a row.

Callie Kidd and Abby Perkey stepped up to the plate in a big way. Kidd went 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI, while Perkey went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Sargent, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Lord Botetourt's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Franklin County, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-4.

As of now, neither Lord Botetourt nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
