Basketball Recap: Hayesville Comes Up Short

Hayesville lost against Franklin back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Hayesville Yellowjackets were outmatched by the Franklin Panthers and fell 91-61. The Yellowjackets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-29.

Jack Jack Teesateskie continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Franklin, going 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points. The contest was Teesateskie's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Max McClure was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Hayesville has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Franklin, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Hayesville has already played their next game, an 89-52 victory against Nantahala on the 17th. As for Franklin, they will take on East Henderson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Franklin's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 13 contests.
