Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Hampden

Hampden had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cony Rams. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 two weeks ago.

While Hampden won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-9, 25-19.

Hampden got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Zoelle Raymond out in front who had eight digs and five aces. That's the most aces Raymond has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Addison Schall, who had ten digs and three aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Hampden was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 16 aces in three consecutive contests.

The win got Hampden back to even at 6-6. As for Cony, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Hampden and Ellsworth will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cony, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Edward Little at 5:00 p.m.
