Soccer Recap: Hickory Ridge's Undefeated Season over After 21 Games

After soaring to four goals the game before, Hickory Ridge was a bit more limited in their match on Monday. They fell just short of the Providence Panthers by a score of 1-0. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Hickory Ridge came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked fourth, while Providence are ranked 42nd).

Having lost for the first time this season, Hickory Ridge fell to 19-1-1. As for Providence, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-7.

Hickory Ridge has already played their next contest, a 5-0 win against West Cabarrus on the 6th. Providence does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
