Basketball Recap: Paxton's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Paxton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 54-51 victory over the Jay Royals. Winning may never get old, but the Bobcats sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Paxton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryker Stokes, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 15 points and three steals. That's the most points Stokes has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Wade Borgesen, who went 5 of 12 en route to 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Paxton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 14-11 record this season. As for Jay, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.

Paxton will take on Baker at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jay does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
