Softball Game Preview: Mohawk Warriors vs. Notre Dame Titans

The Mohawk Warriors will face off against the Notre Dame Titans at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Mohawk sitting on 13 straight victories and Notre Dame on five.

Mohawk is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over Edgerton.

Aubrey Gottfried spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mohawk got a massive performance out of Megan Johnson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI Johnson has posted since back in May. Katie Woodland was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame posted their closest victory since April 7th on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past Conotton Valley 3-2.

Notre Dame's win bumped their record up to 26-4. As for Mohawk, their victory bumped their record up to 26-3.
