Softball Recap: Newton County Triumphs

It was a proper cat-fight when Newton County faced off against Sebastopol on Tuesday. The Cougars came out on top against the Bobcats by a score of 6-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-2 back in February.

Lexi Addy made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Addy was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, Mary Preston Williams was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and three runs. Adilyn Vaughn was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

The win made it two in a row for Newton County and bumps their season record up to 19-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Sebastopol, they moved to 19-9 with that defeat, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Newton County nor the Bobcats have any future games scheduled.
