Softball Recap: Cherryville Ironmen vs. Chase Trojans

Cherryville was the 13-4 winner over Chase when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cherryville Ironmen fell 6-3 to the Chase Trojans on Thursday.

Emma Proctor made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Mulvey, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Proctor wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Cherryville lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Cherryville's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Cherryville will head out to challenge Forestview at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chase, they will be playing at home against Swain County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
