Baseball Game Preview: Franklin Bulldogs vs. Bishop Kearney Kings

The Franklin Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Bishop Kearney Kings at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bishop Kearney took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Franklin, who comes in off a win.

Franklin took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Everything went their way against Finney as they made off with an 11-3 victory. The matchup marked the Bulldogs' most dominant win of the season.

Jordan Forman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Franklin's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 1-7 when he doesn't).

Forman wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Yeiderber Munoz, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Jariel Castoire was another, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Bishop Kearney came up short against Aquinas Institute on Thursday, falling 28-1. The contest marked the Kings' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Bishop Kearney and nudges their season record down to 3-6. As for Franklin, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8.
