Coosa Christian waltzed into their matchup on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They blew past the Tuscaloosa Academy Knights 56-21. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Conquerors also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Coosa Christian found their leader in sophomore Mac Long, who rushed for 45 yards and three touchdowns.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Coosa Christian proved: they limited Tuscaloosa Academy to a paltry 2.3 yards per carry. The Conquerors' run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 4.77 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 9.53 on average over their last five games.

Coosa Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Trevon Heard and Kylen Johnson.

Tuscaloosa Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Mark Norris, who threw for 284 yards and one TD, and also punched in one score on the ground. 125 of Norris' passing yards were hauled in by Jack Kemp.

Coosa Christian's record is now 8-2. As for Tuscaloosa Academy, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-2.

Coosa Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tuscaloosa Academy, they will face off against Bayside Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights' defense better be ready for this one: the Admirals have averaged an impressive 37.9 points per game this season.
