Baseball Recap: Greenville Takes a Loss

Greenville started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Miami East. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 9-7 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Green Wave have suffered since April 17, 2024.

Charlie Jasenski and Titus Eberwein stepped up to the plate in a big way. Jasenski went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double, while Eberwein scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Isaac Kerg, who scored a run while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Greenville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Miami East, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Greenville will venture away from home to take on Russia at 5:00 p.m. on the 28th. As for Miami East, they will welcome Arcanum at 12:00 p.m. on the 29th.
