Foothill has gone 9-1 against West recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Trojans will take on the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. Foothill is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
Foothill proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by seven) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Chavez 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted since May 10, 2024.

Ramon Diaz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Joaquin Carrillo was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Joezeph Camberos, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Foothill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between West and South, and South kept the tradition alive. The Vikings fell 10-6 to the Spartans on Thursday.
Cris Melendez and Jesse Benitez stepped up to the plate in a big way. Melendez scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Benitez scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
West dropped their record down to 4-9 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Foothill, their record is now 8-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Foothill has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like West struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Foothill took their win against West in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 10-3 score. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
