Softball Game Preview: Pine-Richland Rams vs. Canon-McMillan Big Macs

The Pine-Richland Rams will take on the Canon-McMillan Big Macs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither Pine-Richland nor Canon-McMillan posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Pine-Richland fell victim to Hempfield Area and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Spartans, falling 10-0. The Rams have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Canon-McMillan also failed to score in their most recent game. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Seneca Valley on Wednesday.

Brooke Bumer was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

Canon-McMillan's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Pine-Richland, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
