Basketball Recap: Bellevue Christian Takes a Loss

If Bellevue Christian was riding high fresh off their 69-29 takedown of University Prep last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bellevue Christian Vikings lost to the Bear Creek Grizzlies at home by a 71-53 margin on Wednesday. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Grizzlies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2019.

Bear Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Max Beiber led the charge by going 8 of 14 en route to 18 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Conner Jensen, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 20 points.

Bellevue Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Bear Creek, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bellevue Christian will face off against Cascade Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cascade Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Bear Creek, they will square off against Overlake at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Bear Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.6 points per game this season.
