Football Recap: Amherst-Pelham Regional Takes a Loss

Amherst-Pelham Regional lost against West Springfield back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Hurricanes took a 34-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Terriers. While the Hurricanes didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Terriers 14-7 in the first quarter.

When it comes to explaining why Amherst-Pelham Regional lost, don't look at Travis Isabelle. Despite the final result, he rushed for 124 yards and one score, and also threw for 99 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Isabelle also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making five total tackles.

This is the second loss in a row for Amherst-Pelham Regional and nudges their season record down to 5-4. As for West Springfield, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.

Amherst-Pelham Regional is taking a road trip to face off against Longmeadow at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hurricanes will be up against the Lancers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27.4 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for West Springfield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Holyoke at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th.
