Softball Recap: Layton Lancers vs. Weber Warriors
Layton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They wound up on the wrong side of a rough 9-0 walloping at the hands of the Weber Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Layton of the 18-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture on April 9th.
Layton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Jaques, who went 1-for-3 with a double.
On Weber's side, Kendall Strasburg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just zero earned runs on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. Strasburg has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than six innings in three consecutive pitching appearances.
