Clayton won the last time they faced Smithfield-Selma and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Comets blew past the Spartans 11-3. The result was nothing new for the Comets, who have now won five matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Sam Narron was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Clayton is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 5-6 otherwise. Narron was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.

In other pitching news, Lucas Hatch and Chris Crisostomo dominated on the mound. Back at the plate, Clayton got a big performance out of Owen Fitzsimmons, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-1. Clayton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Smithfield-Selma struck out 15 times.
