Hoover is 5-0 against Boardman since January of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Hoover Vikings will challenge the Boardman Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Hoover knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Boardman likes a good challenge.

On Friday, everything went Hoover's way against Lake as Hoover made off with a 57-33 win. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Blue Streaks are ranked 492nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Boardman entered their contest against Canfield on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Boardman fell to Canfield 55-49. The game marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Hoover's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Boardman, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-3.

Hoover was able to grind out a solid win over Boardman in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 55-45. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Boardman's Terrell Mcdowell, who went 8 of 10 on his way to 20 points. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Hoover still be able to contain Mcdowell? There's only one way to find out.
