Baseball Recap: Clare Wins Going Away Against Bullock Creek

Clare barely beat Bullock Creek the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Pioneers blew past the Lancers 10-3 on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Pioneers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Ryan Louch, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Dane Alexander was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.

Clare was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .382 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Clare's record is now 6-4-1. As for Bullock Creek, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 6-3.

The Spartans will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Pioneers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bullock Creek, they will challenge Standish-Sterling at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 0.5 runs per game this season, so the Lancers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
