 It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Sangre de Cristo Thunderbirds can now relate to. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of  50-48. Sangre de Cristo has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second  loss in a row.
 When it comes to explaining why Sangre de Cristo lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is  Kaiden Smit. Despite the final result, he  dropped  a double-double on 22 points and 18  rebounds. Smit is on a roll when it comes to  rebounds, as he's  now  pulled down 13 or more in the last three games he's  played.  Joshua Baker was another key contributor,  scoring eight points.
 Otis' win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Charlie Kendrick, who  scored 12 points along with five  rebounds and five  steals. The team also got some help courtesy of  Sawyer Packer, who  dropped  a double-double on 11 points and 13  rebounds.
 Sangre de Cristo's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Otis, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won 12 of their last 15 matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record  this season.
 Sangre de Cristo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Otis, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  match, a  59-53  loss vs. Stratton on the 2nd.
