Softball Game Preview: Camden Hills Windjammers vs. Lincoln Academy Eagles

The Camden Hills Windjammers will take on the Lincoln Academy Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Lincoln Academy took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Camden Hills, who comes in off a win.

Camden Hills' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Brunswick 10-0. The victory continues a trend for the Windjammers in their matchups with the Dragons: they've now won four in a row.

Brunswick's batters probably weren't too happy with Maya Stone, who pitched a no hitter and racked up nine Ks (she gave up two walks).

At the plate, Thea Laukka was incredible, going 2-for-4 with five stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Evangelene Morneau, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Lincoln Academy's offense. They fell 3-0 to Medomak Valley on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Lincoln Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was C Ward, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

Lincoln Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Camden Hills, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Camden Hills beat Lincoln Academy 4-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Do the Windjammers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
