Baseball Recap: Ware Shoals Takes a Loss

After soaring to 22 runs the game before, Ware Shoals was a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They came up short against the Palmetto Mustangs, falling 11-2. If the Hornets were looking for revenge after losing 14-1 to the Mustangs when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ware Shoals saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Madden, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Dalton Boyter also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Ware Shoals' defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Palmetto, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-10.

Looking ahead, Ware Shoals will be playing in front of their home fans against Thornwell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in the Hornets' favor as the team sits on eight straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Saints have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. As for Palmetto, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 10-0 loss against Westside on the 3rd.
