Hampden proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by eight) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Messalonskee Eagles 7-5. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Broncos also won the last time the pair played back in June of 2024.
Cat Facchini made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Facchini was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Aubrey Shaw and Kiera Gabric did most of the damage at the plate: Shaw went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Gabric went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Mariah Coon was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
