Football Recap: Point Pleasant Comes Up Short

Point Pleasant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost to the Ripley Vikings at home by a 42-23 margin. The Big Blacks were not able to make up for their loss to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Point Pleasant's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Ripley, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

Point Pleasant and Ripley could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps West Virginia Rankings. The Big Blacks (ranked 48th) will meet Herbert Hoover (ranked tenth) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Ripley will challenge Nitro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (70 vs. 15).
