League recap: Roxbury Latin scores huge upset over Thayer Academy

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Thayer Academy, who took down 30th ranked Thayer Academy, 34-33.

Belmont Hill was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating St. Paul's 35-14. The Hillies came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 111 last week.

The Tigers' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jack Becker threw for 165 and two touchdowns and Conor O'Brien had 82 yards receiving. On the ground Mitchell Welsh chipped in 80 yards. Bryan Vieira helped Thayer Academy's passing attack out by catching three balls for 65 yards.

Thayer Academy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Becker has thrown for 459 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Vieira has nine catches for 244 yards. Aaron Gilmer leads the league in rushing with 192 yards.

The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Buckingham Browne & Nichols and Governor's Academy. The Knights comes into the matchup ranked 24th in the state, while the Governors ranks fifth.

Noble & Greenough was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from 13th to seventh in the league. The Bulldogs beat St. George's 30-24 earlier in the week.
