The Sparta Academy Warriors put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Fort Dale Academy by a score of 47-40. That's another feather in the cap for Sparta Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Sparta Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mary Trainham Brock, who scored 15 points along with 9 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Brock has scored at least 25% of Sparta Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Krisalyn Johnson, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Sparta Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-0. As for Fort Dale Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Sparta Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Escambia Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fort Dale Academy is on the road again on Monday and play against Edgewood Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 11th.
