Basketball Recap: Bandys Starts Season with Victory Against Wilkes Central

Bandys took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. They breezed past the Wilkes Central Eagles to the tune of 59-28. The Trojans pushed the score to 49-16 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bandys to victory, but perhaps none more so than Addison Bell, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 steals. Those 11 steals gave Bell a new career-high. Shania Williams was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and nine steals.

Wilkes Central is on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Bandys will take on South Iredell at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wilkes Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Caldwell at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
