Recap: Lynchburg HomeSchool Patriots vs. Carlisle Chiefs
There's no place like home for the Lynchburg HomeSchool Patriots, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 67-64 victory over Carlisle on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Chiefs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Branson Leduc-Mattox, who scored 20 points. Leduc-Mattox scored a full 31.3% of Carlisle's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Beamer, who scored 16 points.
Lynchburg HomeSchool's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.7 points per game. As for Carlisle, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lynchburg HomeSchool will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Farmville Homeschool at 10:30 a.m. on December 16th. As for Carlisle, they will be playing at home against Virginia Episcopal School at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Virginia Episcopal School focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
