Camden County (Kingsland, Ga.) snapped
Lowndes (Valdosta, Ga.)'s 9-game winning streak, with a 24-7 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a field goal in the second quarter, the Wildcats led 10-7 at the half.
Camden County expanded its lead to 10 points entering the fourth quarter. CC scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by
Antonio Wimbush.
With the win the Kingsland school extended its winning streak to nine games. The Wildcats defeated the Pirates 42-8 last week.
The Vikings'
Team Team played well. He ran for one touchdown and kicked one extra point.
Harrison Poole played well for Camden County in the victory. The freshman halfback threw one touchdown.
Lowndes' lone touchdown came on a run by Team in the first quarter.
CC went into the matchup giving up only 5.6 points per game. The seven points that LHS ended with were well below its average of 37.0 coming into the game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Lowndes, which notched a 42-7 victory over Tift County in its previous outing.
The Wildcats (9-0) will play a AAAAAA Region 1 game against Colquitt County next week. The Packers have put together a 5-3 record on the year so far.
