Softball Recap: Chatham Charter Comes Up Short

Chatham Charter managed to slip by Clover Garden School the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Chatham Charter Knights came up short against the Clover Garden School Grizzlies on Tuesday, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Knights' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Ella Ingle was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

Chatham Charter's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-3. As for Clover Garden School, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Chatham Charter will challenge Providence Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Clover Garden School, they will face off against Bartlett Yancey at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bartlett Yancey has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15 runs per game on average), something Clover Garden School will no doubt try to take advantage of.
