Volleyball Recap: Annandale Takes a Loss

Annandale entered their matchup against Monticello on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Cardinals fell 3-1 to the Magic. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Magic this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on September 6th.

Annandale was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Monticello work for it, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 18-25, 29-27, 25-22.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Monticello to victory, but perhaps none more so than Addison Biard, who had 13 digs and one assist. Those 13 digs gave Biard a new career-high. Kiley Schultz was another key player, getting nine digs.

Annandale's loss dropped their record down to 14-3. As for Monticello, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-5.

Annandale has already played their next contest (against Rockford), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Monticello, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 win against St. Francis on the 30th.
