Softball Recap: Masconomet Regional Drops Highest Score of Season Against Salem

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Masconomet Regional). They never let the Salem Witches get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Friday. The Chieftains haven't had any issues with the Witches recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Masconomet Regional let Logan Schaap and Sabrina Caferelli run wild. Schaap went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run, while Caferelli went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Caferelli also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Charlotte Leiss was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.

Masconomet Regional hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive matches.

Masconomet Regional's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Salem, they moved to 3-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Masconomet Regional will square off against Boston Latin Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. As for Salem, they will take on Swampscott at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
