Softball Recap: Smithville Comes Up Short

Smithville lost against Waynedale on Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Smithies lost 10-3 to the Golden Bears. The Smithies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Smithville saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caitlin Walsh-Knouff, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Walsh-Knouff has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

Smithville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Waynedale, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-10.

Smithville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 12-1 loss against Northwestern on the 7th. As for Waynedale, they have also already played their next contest, a 5-3 victory against Rittman on the 7th.
