Basketball Recap: Red Lake Takes a Loss

Red Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 102-18 defeat at the hands of the Cass Lake-Bena Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 395th, while the Panthers are ranked 97th).

Rhianna May was Red Lake's leading scorer, having posted ten points. May also led the team in rebounds with eight.

Red Lake's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Cass Lake-Bena, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-4.

Red Lake has already played their next game (against Deer River), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Cass Lake-Bena will look to defend their home court on Friday against Blackduck at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Cass Lake-Bena's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups.
