Baseball Recap: St. Thomas Aquinas Takes a Loss

St. Thomas Aquinas has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 2.9 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They lost 10-3 to the Key West Conchs. If the Raiders were looking for revenge after losing 6-2 to the Conchs when the teams met back in March of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

St. Thomas Aquinas got a good showing from Hayden Robinson, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Zack Malvasio and Brady Buxbaum did some serious damage despite the final result: Malvasio went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Buxbaum went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was Buxbaum's first of the season.

St. Thomas Aquinas' defeat dropped their record down to 6-3-1. As for Key West, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

St. Thomas Aquinas didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 10-3 victory against Gaither on the 7th. As for Key West, they have also already played their next game, a 5-0 loss against Westminster Christian on the 7th.
