Softball Recap: Hand Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Guilford, Hand was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the East Haven Yellowjackets by a score of 20-16. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Yellowjackets: they've now won six in a row.

Hand got a massive performance out of Phoebe Brennan, who went 4-for-6 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four hits gave Brennan a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lena Aguzzi, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hand kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are 6-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Hand's record is now 10-8. As for East Haven, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.

Hand has already played their next matchup, a 12-5 win against Bristol Central on the 14th. As for East Haven, they will face off against Lyman Hall at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
