Maryland places 60 on 2012 NISCA All-American Swimming list

Maryland ranked No. 18 nationally with 31 boys and 29 girls honorees.

With the U.S. Olympic swimming team nearing the Olympics, the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association recently released its list of high school All-Americans.

The lists compile the top 100 performances in each event during the recently completed school year. Maryland is 18th nationally in the number of athletes, while California came in at No. 1 with 750 honorees.

Led by Andrew Sovero of McDonogh and Charlotte Meyer of Whitman, Maryland had 31 boys All-Americans and 29 girls honorees, respectively.
