Volleyball Game Preview: Riverside Pirates vs. Miami East Vikings

Riverside is 1-8 against Miami East since September of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Pirates will face off against the Vikings at 6:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, Riverside came up short against Lehman Catholic and fell 3-1.

While Riverside ultimately came up short, they really made Lehman Catholic work, particularly in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 20-25, 26-17, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Miami East waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with 15 straight wins... but they left with 16. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 3-0 win.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Miami East took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-7, 25-9.

Miami East's victory bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Riverside, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-16.

Riverside might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Miami East when the teams last played back in September. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
